In fact, a little anxiety can be positive: if you’re nervous about a job interview, it’s a sign you’re motivated to do well. In other situations, anxiety can make you more alert and aware of risk. 

When anxiety grows, it can become a problem. If you have feelings of anxiety that interfere with everyday activities, and you’ve felt this way for months at a time, it’s time to reach out for help.

Anxiety disorders can be overwhelming. The World Health Organization reports that anxiety disorders are the world’s most common mental disorders. Anxiety can raise your risk for other medical problems like heart disease, diabetes, substance abuse problems and depression. 

How do you know if you have an anxiety disorder? You may be experiencing excessive fear about a situation, have trouble concentrating or making decisions, feel irritable, tense or restless, have trouble sleeping, or feel a sense of impending doom. 

There can be physical side effects too, like heart palpitations, sweating, trembling or shaking. There are also several different kinds of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, separation anxiety disorder, specific phobias and more.

As a result, anxiety therapy can take different forms, and we will work with you to find a path to easing this anxiousness. Therapy can help you manage your anxiety with the right tools, strategies, and support you need to better understand and cope with your feelings. We can help you gain control and feel relief, so you can get back to living your life.
